"Feet in the Water"
A storm approaches the city off the coast,
turning the sunny skies into a cloudy grey afternoon.
People lock up their shops, board up their windows,
and prepare themselves for a seemingly inevitable doom.
Winds blow through the trees, lightning streaks through the skies,
the habitat drowns in rain, and our worst fears unfold right before our very eyes.
The child watches through his window as the rain gathers into a make-shift lake on his back lawn.
Not fearing what others have desperately tried to sheild themselves from, he runs into the conditions and begins to play along.
He runs and jumps, splashing around with his feet in the water.
He is not worried for a moment nor dreads what others have sheltered themselves from in horror.
He understand that every now and then life is going to produce a storm.
But as long as you embrace the turbulance you will only grow stronger from the weather in which flowers are born.
